Cabo Blanco Absolute Wildlife Reserve

The entrance to Cabo Blanco National Park is only 4 miles away, making Star Mountain the perfect launching pad for excursions. Cabo Blanco was the first National Park established in Costa Rica and its 3,000 acres of untouched wildlife is testimony to Costa Rica's commitment to preserve large tracts of land. The main trail leads you to the white sandy beach in front of the Island of Cabo Blanco and takes 4 hours. The national park is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Horseback Riding

Allow our horses to be your gentle guides through mountains, jungle and beaches leaving Star Mountain early in the morning or for a sunset ride. Depending on the rider's level different tours are offered.

Canopy del Pacifico in Mal Pais

Tours are at 9 am and 2 pm and only with reservation. Hike and learn about medicinal plants, birds and animals. Canopy ride more than 1 kilometer cables, 9 platforms. Rappel descending from gigantic trees.

Canopy Montezuma Waterfalls

Tours are at 9 am, 11 am or 3 pm and only with reservation.
The 11- platform ride is over 1,200 meters long over the Montezuma forest and waterfalls.

Surfing

Our hotel is 4 miles from the famous Playa Carmen surfing beach of Mal Pais/Santa Teresa. Surf information, lessons and board rentals can be arranged from Star Mountain.

Fishing or Tours

Fish for tuna, snapper, mahi mahi and many others, near the Cabo Blanco island, with one of the local fishermen. If you do not fish, you can scout for turtles, dolphins, manta rays, whales, and sea birds. The sunrise and sunset are both magical from the water.

Hiking
